Fusion Sport and Smartabase announce official certification to international data security and privacy standards

Cybercrime is an unfortunate reality that every organization must be aware of. All software systems that are connected to the internet are open to attack, no matter their size or data type, and the consequences of a breach can be catastrophic. Fusion Sport takes threats to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of our clients’ information seriously.  As such, we are pleased to announce we are now a ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified provider and our Information Security Management System (ISMS) has received third-party accreditation from the International Standards Organization.

ISO 27001:2013 is an information security standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

In addition to our ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification we have also achieved certification for ISO/IEC 27701 – Privacy Information Management System (PIMS).

ISO/IEC 27701:2019 is a privacy information management system standard published in August 2019 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and is an extension to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information security management standard. To our knowledge we are the first company in the Human Performance arena to achieve this standard.

Our clients will benefit from the ISO 27701 certification, as it will streamline compliance obligations for ISO 27001 and the GDPR by integrating privacy into our information security systems.

Fusion Sport’s certifications were issued by A-LIGN, an independent and accredited certification body based in the United States, on successful completion of a formal audit process.

These certifications are evidence that Fusion Sport has met rigorous international standards in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our software products, including Smartabase. The Certifications are all-encompassing and not only include our software products, but related services provided to Fusion Sport’s clients. The certification process also included Fusion Sport’s internal technologies and business processes used by its staff.

Both certifications demonstrate Fusion Sport’s continued commitment to information security at every level and ensures that the security of your data and information has been addressed, implemented, and properly controlled in all areas of our organization. We will continue to invest heavily in security and we will also have third-party reviews every year to remain certified.
