Fusion Sport partners with the National Scouting Combine to give pro football hopefuls a way to get on recruiters’ radars

The new altered format of the NFL Scouting Combine for 2021 has been a huge blow for draft hopefuls. Among the alterations will be no in-person workouts at the combine as they will take place at colleges’ pro days, all interviews and psychological testing will be virtual and there will be limited in-person medical exams.

This year more than ever giving athletes a way to safely make a first impression with professional organisations is important. One of these opportunities is the National Scouting Combine that will take place in Indianapolis starting March 8. As an exclusive “invite only” event that is run by the Beyond Sports Network Foundation the National Scouting combine is still able to move ahead with its event this year.

National Scouting Combine bridges the gap between athletes and professional teams across all levels. NFL Draft hopefuls will have the chance to showcase their athletic abilities in front of professional scouts. Alongside other skills drills, Fusion Sport’s Smartspeed timing systems will be used to provide the same gold standard accuracy present at other top combines through timing events such as the 40-yard dash and pro-agility drill.

Top collegiate football players and select free agents will participate in the BSN National Scouting Combine showcasing their talent for pro leagues such as the NFL, CFL, AFL, Indoor, and European leagues. Fusion Sport Smartspeed Timing System, the trusted technology utilized at NFL Regional Combines, the NBA Draft Combine, CFL, and other athlete evaluation events globally, will provide timing for the event.

The BSN National Scouting Combine has partnered with Fusion Sport for a number of years in the effort to provide the highest quality combine experience for all athletes evaluated at the BSN National Scouting Combine. The annual combine is set to host some of the best collegiate football players in the country, with testing taking place over a 4-day span.

Fusion Sport will support the event by providing their Smartspeed Timing Systems for multiple combine evaluation drills like the 40-Yard Dash (also capturing 10 and 20 yard split times) and the Pro Agility Drill.

Smartspeed’s combine feature provides coaches and scouts with a simple, effective way of gathering all combine data in one consistent and simple interface. In addition to timed drills using the Smartspeed gates, all other data is entered through the app (anthropometry, profile details, coach ratings, etc). The data captured from the combine is automatically uploaded to the cloud for access via a Smartspeed online account. This results in a completely paperless combine that saves time and ensures no data is lost or compromised.
